On Thursday, August 31, 2023, IFEZ signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea e-Sports Association, the Incheon e-Sports Association, and Daewon Plus Development for mutual cooperation in creating an e-sports game-specialized complex and a game industry cluster in connection with the Cheongna International City G Tech City project. Cheongna International City G Tech City, to be developed on an approximately 260,395㎡ investment-attraction site in Block 6 of Cheongna International City, is planned to include educational facilities for fostering global game talent, research and development (R&D) facilities, innovation zones and studios for domestic and overseas game companies, a knowledge industry center, tourism MICE facilities, and a game entertainment district. The agreement is expected to serve as a foundation for fostering Incheon as a global e-sports hub.
