On March 31, 2006 (Friday), the Incheon General Construction Headquarters held the groundbreaking ceremony for the coastal road expansion project in Songdo International City at an event site near Songdo International Bridge (Songdo 1 Bridge), with about 200 participants including the Mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City. The project is designed to expand the transportation corridor linking Songdo International City, Incheon Bridge, and the Third Gyeongin Expressway by widening the existing six-lane coastal road into a 12-lane road over a total length of approximately six kilometers. The project is expected to further improve accessibility to Songdo International City and strengthen connections to the regional transportation network.
