On June 16, 2006 (Friday), the Ministry of Information and Communication and Incheon Metropolitan City signed an agreement at Ramada Hotel Songdo for the development of the Songdo u-IT Cluster. Under the agreement, shared infrastructure facilities will be established in the Knowledge and Information Industry Complex of Songdo International City, including a design support center, USN Fab, packaging and assembly center, and testing and certification center to support the design, manufacturing, testing, and certification of RFID and USN products. By 2010, a total of KRW 343.6 billion (approximately USD 361.7 million) and a site of 24,634 pyeong will be invested, and the project is expected to contribute to fostering advanced information and communication industries and strengthening corporate competitiveness.
