On July 11, 2006 (Tuesday), Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ) signed a basic agreement with Portman Holdings of the United States at Lotte Hotel Seoul for the implementation of the development project for Blocks 6 and 8 of Songdo International City. The agreement laid the foundation for a mixed-use development project including the development of the 151-story Incheon Tower, and the area is planned to be developed as a key hub combining international business, commercial, residential, and tourism functions. Portman Holdings is a U.S. company engaged in real estate development and mixed-use development projects.
