On October 9, 2006 (Monday), Incheon Metropolitan City and the Korea Middle East Association held a signing ceremony at the InterContinental Seoul Hotel for the construction of a Middle East Cultural Center in Cheongna International City. The ceremony was arranged to establish a hub for cultural exchange with the Middle East in Cheongna International City and to expand the foundation for attracting Middle Eastern capital. The Middle East Cultural Center is planned to serve as a space supporting cultural exchange and tourism promotion between Korea and the Middle East, and it is expected to contribute to enhancing the international profile of Cheongna International City and strengthening the foundation for Incheon’s bid to host the 2014 Asian Games.
