On October 16, 2006 (Monday), the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority held an agreement signing ceremony for the u-City Integrated Urban Control Center pilot project and a strategy seminar on its implementation. The pilot project agreement was signed at Ramada Hotel Songdo with the participation of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, IBM, LG CNS, and SK Telecom, and approximately KRW 1.8 billion (approximately USD 1.9 million) will be invested through March 2007 to verify the feasibility of the integrated platform standard for the Integrated Urban Control Center. A seminar held afterward at the international conference hall on the second floor of Gaetbeol Tower discussed the direction of the u-City initiative, strategies for establishing the Integrated Urban Control Center, and standardization measures.
