On November 27, 2006 (Monday), Incheon National University held the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of its Songdo New Campus at the university site in Songdo International City. The ceremony marked the full-scale launch of the university relocation project and the expansion of education and research infrastructure in Songdo International City. The new campus is planned to be built in the area of 12-1 Songdo-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, and will be developed as a future-oriented campus equipped with education and research functions as well as an industry-academia cooperation base. The project is expected to contribute to nurturing local talent and strengthening the role of Songdo as a knowledge-based city.
