On December 8, 2006 (Friday), the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Songdo International Business District infrastructure construction project at the project site in Songdo International City. About 300 guests and citizens attended the event. The project will invest KRW 341.6 billion (approximately USD 363.4 million) through April 2009 to build 22.2 kilometers of roads, 38.7 kilometers of water supply lines, 76.27 kilometers of stormwater and sewage pipelines, and two sewage relay pumping stations. The project is expected to contribute to the development of the International Business District and strengthen the foundation for attracting foreign investment.
