On December 27, 2006 (Wednesday), the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority signed a business cooperation agreement with Seoul National University College of Medicine and the Neuroscience Research Institute of Gachon University College of Medicine for the development of an advanced medical complex. The agreement was arranged to support the successful implementation of the Incheon Biomedical Hub project being promoted in Songdo International City and to strengthen its research foundation. Seoul National University College of Medicine plans to cooperate in establishing the East Asia Genome Center, while the Neuroscience Research Institute of Gachon University College of Medicine will participate in developing a Brain Science Center. The agreement is expected to contribute to the establishment of related research institutes, the attraction of companies, and stronger linkages in medical services, drug development, and medical devices.
