On March 13, 2007 (Tuesday) IFEZ held a groundbreaking ceremony for the public water reclamation works in Districts 6 and 8 of Songdo International City. Districts 6 and 8 are scheduled for completion in May 2010 and will be developed as a complex urban area combining business, tourism, and residential functions, including Incheon Tower, a 151-story twin-tower landmark. The groundbreaking marked the full-scale launch of a project to expand Songdo International City and build the foundation for international business and tourism, and the area is expected to grow into a key hub where cultural and economic activities are concentrated.
