On March 25, 2007 (Sunday) the Incheon International Marathon was held. The race followed a course starting from Munhak Stadium and turning back at Songdo International City, with many domestic and international marathon runners taking part. Participants ran through a route connecting the urban core and the international city development area, experiencing Incheon’s urban competitiveness and its capacity to host international events. The event also served to promote civic unity, encourage sports for all, and enhance Incheon’s international image.
