On Wednesday, July 16, 2008, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and SK Telecom for the development of robot services for Tomorrow City. This agreement was initiated to introduce hybrid robot services capable of automatic and manual switching, along with kiosk-linked functions, in order to provide human-assistive services such as exhibition hall guidance, lost child assistance, and urban security. These robots will help overcome the practical limits of human-robot interaction and serve to demonstrate advanced ubiquitous city services.
