On Thursday, October 16, 2008, IFEZ held the u-City International Conference. The conference was organized to discuss the development direction of ubiquitous cities and ways to build urban services based on advanced information and communications technology. Participants shared cases involving future-oriented urban infrastructure, smart administration, and transportation, safety, and daily convenience services, and the event served as an opportunity to further specify the high-tech city development strategy for the Incheon Free Economic Zone, including Songdo International City.
