On June 1, 2009 (Monday), Incheon Metropolitan City opened the Songdo International City extension of Incheon Urban Railway Line 1. The line, which had previously operated only between Gyeyang Station and Dongmak Station, expanded service after the opening to include Campus Town Station, Technopark Station, Knowledge Information Complex Station, Incheon National University Station, Central Park Station, International Business District Station, and Songdo Moonlight Festival Park Station. The extension is expected to improve accessibility and public transportation convenience in Songdo International City and strengthen its residential environment and international business functions.
