On Monday, May 17, 2010, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP) held its general assembly at Songdo Convensia. The meeting was organized to discuss economic and social development and international cooperation across the Asia-Pacific region. Held in Songdo International City, the assembly served as an opportunity to enhance the city’s standing as an international convention destination and to demonstrate its capacity to host large-scale global events. UN ESCAP is a United Nations body that promotes sustainable development and regional cooperation in Asia and the Pacific.
