On Monday, May 17, 2010, IFEZ signed a memorandum of understanding with the Northwestern Gulf of Suez Special Economic Zone of Ecuador. The agreement was made to share experience and operational know-how in free economic zone development and to expand the foundation for international cooperation. The two sides explored cooperation in various fields, including special economic zone development, investment attraction, urban development, and industrial infrastructure, and they planned to promote exchanges and cooperative projects in stages.
