On Friday, November 26, 2010, IFEZ signed a memorandum of understanding with Ecuador for the development of a knowledge-based city. The signing was pursued to expand international cooperation based on the urban development experience and advanced city operation model of the Incheon Free Economic Zone, including Songdo International City. IFEZ plans to share its know-how in mixed-use city development, information and communications infrastructure, investment attraction, and residential environment planning. The memorandum of understanding is expected to strengthen cooperation in knowledge-based city development and broaden the foundation for spreading the Korean urban development model.
