On November 19, 2012 (Monday), Incheon Metropolitan City, Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education, Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, Songdo International City Development Corporation, and POSCO Education Foundation signed an implementation agreement for the establishment of an autonomous private high school in Songdo International City. The agreement followed a memorandum of understanding signed in 2011 and specified the roles and cooperation responsibilities of each organization for the establishment and operation of the school. The school was planned on a site of approximately 25,000 square meters in Songdo International City, with 24 classes and capacity for 720 students. It was planned to include advanced educational facilities such as classroom buildings, a multipurpose auditorium, and a cafeteria, with the goal of opening in March 2015. Songdo International City Development Corporation was responsible for constructing and donating the school facilities, while POSCO Education Foundation was responsible for developing the establishment and operation plans and handling the necessary authorization procedures.
